Awesome Styles started in June 2008 with a private beta consisting of a number of phpBB style authors. After two months of work on the site, Awesome Styles launched in August of 2008 as a website offering phpBB related resources - not only styles but also mods, graphics and resources.
In spring of 2009 the website had its first major overhaul, removing the phpBB mods and forum graphics section to be replaced with MyBB and bbPress styles. From this point forward Awesome Styles has been committed to solely providing free phpBB3 styles and free MyBB themes to users.
As of writing, Awesome Styles has added over 600 free forum styles to its database which have been downloaded over 500,000 times. We have over 7,000 registered users on the website of which more than 100 have contributed at least one style. Since tracking of views began in mid 2009, the styles in our database have been viewed over 4.5 million times.
Currently we're looking to expand into other forum softwares, with SMF 2.0 themes on the way soon and themes for premium products such as vBulletin and IPB on the horizon.
