The MyBB team have been hard work on their forum software and today announced the release of the latest version: 1.6. The update sees numerous new features and improvements including an easier permissions system for Administrators (hint hint, phpBB!) and thread prefixes.
Other new features include a notepad, delayed moderation actions, Private Message searching and poll improvements. Together with, as always, improved security and UI, this is one meaty release which we suggest users upgrade to when they can. Unfortunately with such a vast amount of changes themes for MyBB 1.4 will, in general, not be compatible with 1.6 out of the box. This means you’ll either need a new theme for 1.6 or update the theme yourself using the “Find New Templates” button in the Admin Panel.
