The phpBB group have released the newest version of phpBB3, 3.0.6. This update not only brings a range of bugfixes and security improvements to the software but plenty of new features moved forward from the planned 3.1 release. The downside of this for styles is that there are plenty of updates to be made to get styles working in the latest version.

As part of our ongoing site changes, we’ve now added a brand new bbPress themes section to the website! bbPress is an accessible, lightweight forum platform built by the same people who make WordPress.

If you tried to view one of our tutorials or resource pages over the last couple of days you would have noticed that they had moved to a website called Forum Bite. This is new site which will provide forum admins with all the resources they need to running and managing their forum.

The MyBB team have released a security patch which fixes 3 security vulnerabilities in the current 1.4.x forum software. Two of these problems are low risk, either requiring admin permissions or do not cause any harm to your board. The other problem however is a high risk SQL injection vulnerability and therefore you should update your board immediately.

The latest maintenance release of phpBB, 3.0.5, is now available for download. This package fixes more than 65 bugs, makes a number of changes to the behaviour of the forum, introduces 9 features and fixes a single security risk.
